What happens when carefree young adults, on the threshold of maturity though not quite, are yanked out of their naive jauntiness by the demanding teacher called life, and thrust into reluctant, full-blown adulthood? It’s an arduous experience no doubt. But one that makes men out of boys; and women out of girls, for that matter.
Voot’s upcoming show ‘Khwabon Ke Parindey‘ focuses on all this and more – how four seemingly happy-go-lucky young adults come of age, and on a road trip at that! Voot has just launched the trailer of the show, and it seems fun, feisty and fervent at first glance. The new series follows four young adults as they undertake a fun road trip, but along the way, gain interesting insights into love, friendship, hope, life, and their place in the larger scheme of things.
Bindiya (Asha Negi) is the typical wild-child – boisterous, impulsive and headstrong. She’s the one who coerces her best friends Megha (Manasi Moghe) and Dixit (Mrinal Dutt) to embark on a road trip from Melbourne to Perth. Along the way, they take in a hitch-hiker, Aakash (Tushar Sharma). The series shows how, in the course of the road trip, the youngsters discover a lot of things – about themselves, about relationships, and about life. While the teaser had focused on just the fun aspect of the series, the trailer goes deeper, plunging into the dark, hidden corners of the youngsters’ lives; and coming up with undisclosed secrets. The four are compelled to confront their deepest fears, anxieties and insecurities. The heartwarming thing is that they emerge stronger, more secure and grown-up – in the true sense of the word.
Khwabon Ke Parindey appears to be an exciting coming-of-age, young adult drama. The show is directed by Tapasvi Mehta, and promises to be an absorbing watch.
Khwabon Ke Parindey premieres on Voot on 14th June. Have a look at the trailer here –
