Warner Bros is on the verge of exploring the multiverse in their future DC projects. The concept of multiverse has been a favorite for both the creators and the audiences, with multiple worlds crossing over each other. Now Warner Bros is coming up with a lineup of projects which will start at the end of 2022 with ‘Black Adam’ and ‘Shazam!: Fury of the Gods’ before the really frantic events that will unfold in 2023 with ‘The Flash’ (theatrical release in June 2nd, 2023) that could change everything.
So far the biggest crossover event in the DC extended universe came with 2017’s ‘Justice League’, a disastrous theatrical release that people would like to forget.
KC Walsh of Geeks WorldWide stated in one of his old tweets, giving an insinuation that Warner Bros. is planning a DCEU event based on the comic storyline ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ :
•”So DC/WBs plan is to build a Crisis on Infinite Earths Event if that wasn’t obvious already” He stated that Ben Affleck was done with DCEU after ‘The Flash’, but he might leave his door open to return back for a crisis event in the multiverse :
• ”Batfleck is still very much done with DCEU, but leaving the door open for him to come back during a crisis event if he wants makes sense, but I’ll take the L”The movie might set up a possible crisis event at the end featuring Ben Affleck’s Batman. Walsh gave a hint that it involves the Batman.
• ”[The Flash] sets up [a Crisis on Infinite Earths-inspired event] at the end. This is the Batfleck scene that people are referencing, it sets up Crisis. I’m not going to spoil it but it involves Batman” Walsh made it clear that audiences are never going to get Snyder’s planned movie sequels, Warner Bros have completely phased out Snyderverse.
• You’re never getting direct Snyder sequels, [Warner Bros.] are going to make you think you are so you all continue to buy in, like you’re doing with The Flash and then they will bring everyone back for a crisis event and call it a win”.
DC with ‘The Flash’ will allow them to push forward their multiverse potential. The movie has been in talks for years, now finally came to life with the return of Ben Affleck as the Batman along with the addition of Michael Keaton. There are speculations buzzing that this film might restart the entire DCEU, giving us a dose of excitement as to what more possibilities could this Multiverse offer through the roof.
