Bollywood Diva Dia Mirza has three OTT projects to her credit and one of which (Mind The Malhotras on Amazon Prime Video) she also produced. She also starred in web series – Kaafir and Moghuls. The actress is making her Telugu debut with Nagarjuna’s Wild Dog which releases on April 2nd as Summer Special. In a media interaction about the film, the actress responded about the censorship debate going on in the OTT space.
“It is very important because it nurtures new talents and provides livelihood for many people. The OTT space until now, I repeat until now is a democratic space. It gives people an opportunity to explore. There is no burden like Box Office pressure, influence of some section of audience, their reactions etc. I do not if that will still stay with this censorship,” she said.
“Even for films, I do not believe there should be something like censorship. There should be a certification regarding which film should belong to which age group. Then people should use their intellect to decide what is suitable and what is not for them. We should respect the intelligence of the people in democracy. There can be guidelines always but censorship is undemocratic,” she added.
