It’s been so long since DC signed Dwayne Johnson to portray one of the most popular antiheroes of all time, Black Adam. The character was ready to make its live-action debut in December 2021. But the ongoing COVID pandemic forced the executives to push the release date a bit further.
Warner Bros has dispatched both the official teaser and the first look trailer of the movie. The first one displayed elements of history related to Kahndaq’s most notorious being ever. And the latter gave us a hint of how Johnson would look under the hood.

Possibilities of a Black Adam sequel
Ever since the announcement of the Justice Society of America’s inclusion in the movie, fans have started to wonder what the future holds for Black Adam. Hiram Garcia, the film’s producer, looks very confident about the possibility of a sequel. In his recent interview with Collider, he said:
“100%. We have always had a vision of where we saw we wanted this to go. We’ve never viewed this as just a one-off movie, I’m such a gigantic comic book nerd and fan, and I love this universe so much if you can tell from my excitement about talking about all these things.
It seems clear that the producers are not looking to put curtains on the character anytime soon. But the chances of a sequel depends upon the box office performance of the first Black Adam movie.
Will we see Green Lantern in the Black Adam project?
We can’t deny that DC’s upcoming superhero instalment is one of the most-awaited movies of 2022. Makers have confirmed already that the prestigious superhero faction, Justice Society of America, is also a part of the film. We have Pierce Brosnan (Doctor Fate), Noah Centineo (Atom Smasher), and Aldis Hodge (Hawkman) in the upcoming DC project. This scenario also raises an important question. Will we see Green Lantern in this movie? Hold on! We are not talking about Ryan Reynolds here. But we may see another actor donning the character in future. However, it is not clear if we will witness that performer in the forthcoming Black Adam project.
Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam movie will come out on July 29 this year.
