A while back, India’s eminent film production and distribution company Yash Raj Films aka YRF had announced its streaming arm YRF Entertainment’s first-ever OTT project – a web series titled ‘The Railway Men’ which is based on the 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy. The series is on the verge of completion and features proficient performers like Kay Kay Menon, R Madhavan, Divyenndu, and Babil Khan.
And now, YRF has just announced and kicked-off its second OTT show titled ‘Mandala Murders’, which is being described as an edge-of-the-seat, multi-season crime thriller series. The big-ticket project will kick-off its month-long filming schedule this week itself in Prayagraj, Lucknow, and Varanasi cities.

The massively mounted ‘Mandala Murders’ series will feature Vaani Kapoor in the lead role, and this will be her OTT debut. The actress has previously starred in films like ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’, ‘Shamshera’, ‘War’, and ‘Befikre’, amongst others. The show will also feature ‘Gullak’ stars Vaibhav Raj Gupta and Jameel Khan along with Surveen Chawla in pivotal roles.
The upcoming show ‘Mandala Murders’ will be directed by Gopi Puthran (of ‘Mardaani 2’ fame) along with Manan Rawat, who has previously worked as an associate director in films like ‘Samrat Prithviraj’, ‘Sui Dhaga’, and ‘Raees’, etc. The latter was also involved in the making of Smriti Mundhra’s YRF-based documentary ‘The Romantics’, which was also produced by YRF Entertainment.
So far, whatever projects the streaming arm of YRF has announced sound intriguing and exciting. Besides ‘Mandala Murder’ and ‘The Railway Men’, it was also previously reported that another web series project for YRF Entertainment will be created by acclaimed writer Jaideep Sahni (‘Chak De! India’ writer). The series was described as a heady relationship drama about love, ambition, and profession.
