The next chapter in ZEE5‘s successful State Of Siege franchise is one of the most-awaited among Indian digital viewers. Titled State Of Siege: Temple Attack, the film is finally going to release on ZEE5 in the month of July. ZEE5 today released a short teaser for the upcoming film, along with its release date. So here it is – State Of Siege: Temple Attack premieres on 9th July on ZEE5 Premium.
State Of Siege 26/11 was very well received by audiences of all ages in the country. State Of Siege: Temple Attack is the next in the franchise State Of Siege, aka SOS. The only difference is that the first had been a series, while Temple Attack is presented as a feature film.
State Of Siege: Temple Attack focuses on the Akshardham terror attack that took place in September 2002 in the famous Akshardham Temple Complex in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Highly trained, ruthless terrorists attacked Akshardham temple, armed with haversacks full of automatic weapons and grenades. They killed 30 people, including children, and injured more than 80. The NSG (National Security Guards) was called in, which fought and killed the terrorists, thereby saving the lives of hundreds of people held hostage by the terrorists inside the temple complex. State Of Siege 26/11 also centred on the bravado of the National Security Guards bravehearts, and how they saved the day.
The almost one-minute-long teaser shows actor Akshaye Khanna as the leader of the commandos, who coordinates the charge of the NSG, and leads from the front in facing the terrorists. Akshaye Khanna is making his digital debut with the film. The teaser does not give a glimpse of the other primary cast members, Vivek Dahiya, Gautam Rode, Sameer Soni, Dhanveer Singh among others, who play crucial roles of the NSG commandos. The teaser is Akshaye Khanna’s show all the way.
The teaser does give us a glimpse of the actors who play the hardened terrorists. The terrorists exchange a lot of jingoistic talk of hitting the Indian state where it hurts most – obviously referring to the high-footfall location of the Akshardham Temple complex. The teaser ends with bracing shots of the NSG commandos hitting back. Judging by the teaser, ZEE5 has a sure-shot winner on its hands.
State Of Siege: Temple Attack is directed by Ken Ghosh, and produced by Contiloe Pictures, who were also producers of State Of Siege 26/11.
