This week there are not many big Indian releases. Yes, Kara and JetLee are there but their craze is not as much as we usually expect them to be. Talking about international releases, yes, we have Spider-Noir which can be a pretty huge deal if the story is engaging. Here are all the major titles coming to the OTT this week.
Spider-Noir
Spider-Noir premieres on Prime Video on May 27 with Nicolas Cage playing the live-action version of the Marvel character. Set in 1930s New York, the series follows a private investigator who once worked as a masked vigilante. A painful event from his past forces him back into the city’s dangerous criminal world. Viewers can watch the series in both black-and-white and colour versions.
Kara
Kara will begin streaming on Netflix from May 28 after its theatrical release on April 30. Directed by Vignesh Raja, the action drama stars Dhanush in the lead role alongside Mamitha Baiju, Jayaram and K.S. Ravikumar. Set in Ramanathapuram during the Gulf War in 1991, the film follows a man trying to protect his family while dealing with the mistakes of his past. The movie also features a surprise cameo appearance by Siva Kartikeyan.
JetLee
JetLee releases on JioHotstar on May 25 and stars Satya in his first lead role. The story takes place on a flight carrying a banker accused of stealing thousands of crores from customers. Satya plays a man suffering from memory loss who keeps getting mistaken for someone else during the journey. A government agent and a corrupt politician add more confusion as hidden truths begin to unfold.
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 2
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 2 arrives on Netflix on May 27 with Emma Myers returning as Pip Fitz-Amobi. After solving a major case, Pip hopes to stay away from investigations and focus on her normal life. Her plans change when an important witness suddenly disappears before a trial. The new mystery pulls her back into another dangerous situation filled with secrets.
Brothers and Sisters
Brothers and Sisters starts streaming on JioHotstar on May 27 and focuses on a Tamil family dealing with hidden tensions. The series follows four siblings balancing their careers, relationships and personal struggles. Their strict father tries to keep the family united while problems continue to grow inside the house. A secret affair threatens to destroy the trust holding everyone together.
My 2 Cents
My 2 Cents releases on Netflix on May 27 and follows two close friends trying to run a small business together. Financial problems and personal misunderstandings slowly begin to damage their friendship. Things become more serious when one of them gets involved with organised crime. The series mixes comedy with emotional moments and everyday struggles.
Four Seasons Season 2
Four Seasons Season 2 starts streaming on Netflix on May 28 and continues the story of a close group of longtime friends. The new season focuses on how they deal with grief after losing someone important. Their tradition of taking vacations together continues across several locations, including Italy. Old romantic problems and emotional conflicts begin to surface once again.
Brazil ’70: The Third Star
Brazil ’70: The Third Star premieres on Netflix on May 29 and recreates Brazil’s legendary 1970 FIFA World Cup journey. The six-part drama features famous football figures like Pelé and Jairzinho during one of the sport’s greatest eras. Along with football, the series also explores Brazil’s political situation under military rule. Large-scale match scenes and emotional moments drive the story forward.
Murder Mindfully Season 2
Murder Mindfully Season 2 arrives on Netflix on May 29 and continues the story of lawyer Björn Diemel. After secretly taking control of two criminal gangs, he tries to hide the truth while managing both empires. The season also explores his emotional struggles and unresolved childhood trauma. Dark comedy and crime remain at the centre of the story.
Cousins and Kalyanams
Cousins and Kalyanams starts streaming on JioHotstar on May 29 and follows six cousins connected through years of family weddings. The Malayalam series explores friendships, romance and misunderstandings across 25 years of shared memories. Every family gathering slowly turns chaotic as old emotions return to the surface. Priya Prakash Varrier and Roshan Abdul Rahoof play the lead roles.
Propeller One-Way Night Coach
Propeller One-Way Night Coach premieres on Apple TV on May 29 and marks John Travolta’s directorial debut. The film follows a young boy travelling to Hollywood with his mother during the golden age of aviation. What begins as a simple flight slowly becomes a magical and life-changing journey. Travolta narrates the story while his daughter Ella Bleu Travolta appears in the cast.
Rafa
Rafa releases on Netflix on May 29 and tells the story of tennis legend Rafael Nadal in a four-part documentary series. The project explores both his achievements and the physical pain he faced throughout his career. Rare footage and interviews with people close to Nadal are included in the series. It follows his journey from childhood to his final professional match in 2024.
Star City
Star City arrives on Apple TV+ on May 29 and expands the world introduced in For All Mankind. The series imagines an alternate timeline where the Soviet Union won the race to the moon. Much of the story takes place inside the Soviet space programme during the Cold War era. Scientists, astronauts and government officials struggle with pressure, politics and ambition throughout the series.
