Bhanumathi-&-Ramakrishna-AHABOTTOM LINE: A Feel-Good Love Story In True Sense

Rating: 2.75/5

Skin N Swear: A singular instance of F-word usage.

Platform: Aha Video Genre: Drama, Romance

What Is the Story About?

Bhanumathi (Salony Luthra) and Ramakrishna (Naveen Chandra) are two individuals who belong to the opposite end of spectrum concerning their lifestyles, habits and overall system. However, they share a common problem, and it brings them together. How that later makes them fall in love with each other is what the movie is all about?

Bhanumathi-&-Ramakrishna-Cast

Performances?

The movie has limited characters and entire narrative runs on the two titular people, Bhanumathi and Ramakrishna. Salony Luthra plays Bhanumati and Naveen Chandra is Ramakrishna.

Both have played their parts well and take the proceedings forward effortlessly. It is as if they are born to play the characters. Salony Luthra fits the bill perfectly for the thirty years old Bhanumathi who is a control freak. The initial pent up emotions with a smart-alecky vibe and the subsequent opening up are well brought out by her. A lot of that depends on the dubbing though, which is impactful.

Similarly, Naveen Chandra models himself excellently as a small-town guy. Playing the part of a person from lower strata might not be new for him, but what is, is the believable naivety that he brings to the role. It is rightly mentioned during one of the dialogues in the movie, that he gives the impression of an innocent soul. With both the lead pair fitting in perfectly and performing as envisioned, half of the job of the director is done.

Analysis

Srikanth Nagothi has written and directed the movie. It is a first-time effort, and for that alone, he gets a pass mark. Srikanth has managed to tell a predictable tale of love, engagingly.

Right from the opening block, we know where Bhanumati And Ramakrishna is headed. However, the smart and sharp writing makes one hooked to the narrative. It also helps that the duration is small there is very little that has been dragged.

The momentum of the film kick-starts’ once the journey between Bhanumati and Ramakrishna begins. The growth of the relationship between the two is neatly brought out without much of a deviation.

If one actually thinks the core driving characterization of the film here looks like Bommarillu in reverse. The focus is, of course, only on the Hasini character and how it brings a positive change around the people it interacts. Only here instead of a female, it is essayed by a male.

The narrative gets better as it progresses towards the end, and the lead pair realizes the love for each other. There are filler blocks on the way like the sister track, but it works out well in rounding up the emotional flow. The clean screenplay and the writing do the trick. The latter is, in fact, better than the direction comparatively.

The climax is neatly wrapped up without dragging it involving the family. The focus is always on the two lead roles, and what happens to them, that’s it. The class conflict adds a layer, and the actors do the rest without going overboard.

Overall, Bhanumati And Ramakrishna is a decent one time watch due to relatable characterization of the lead pair. They are sure to win one over with their feel-good appeal. Give the movie is a try with an open mind; the chances are high that you won’t be disappointed.

Other Artists?

Apart from the lead pair, there are minimum characters. Raja Chembolu and Harsha play critical parts which help is taking off the movie and providing extra entertainment respectively. They are decent. Shalini Vadnikatti and Ajay bring nothing to the table to get registered. They remain the other couple that remains in a live-in relationship in the movie with nothing else to talk about. The rest of the actors appear briefly and do their bits adequately like the parents of the hero and heroine.

Music and Other Departments? Bhanumathi-Ramakrishna-Review

The music by Shravan Bharadwaj and background score from Achu Rajamani is a major asset to the movie. The latter also composed the ending montage song. They seamlessly elevate the whole proceedings. At the same time, there is a sense of loudness throughout, which could be toned down a bit. Little subtlety could do no harm, we guess. The cinematography by Sai Prakash Ummadisingu is below par even for a low budget digital film. The editing by Ravikanth Perepu is alright.  As mentioned previously, writing is one of the mainstays of the film.
