What Is the Story About?

Like the rest of the World, a couple in Love (Adith Arun and Shivani Rajasekhar) gets struck at different places during the Coronavirus Lockdown. They are madly missing each other and promise not to turn off the video call until the Lockdown is called off. But the girl finds herself in unexpected danger and the boy finds himself helpless and starts following the murderer. What follows next is something unexpected.

Performances?

Adith Arun is good as Viswa. The character arc is as such it starts with Adith Arun as a happy-go-lucky but very soon it slips into distress mode. However, he rose to the challenge and came up with a good performance in the emotional sequences.

Analysis

With the advancement of the internet, we are often hearing about Cyber Crime. The instances of people around us falling prey are also increasing. Most of these cases are not resolved with the culprits being anonymous and untraceable. That is the subject of WWW. KV Guhan aptly chose the subject but failed in executing it.

Cyber Crime has several thousands of interesting cases. It is imperative to select the right one to make it interesting. Probably, the revenge angle is incorporated to make it commercially viable. The initial portions of Viswa and Mitra’s love story are boring. The director also takes a lot of time to get into the actual story.

The initial scenes after the story begins are interesting. We connect to the pain of the couple and also excitedly wait to know the motive of the intruder. That should be the biggest selling point of the story but Guhan slipped exactly there. The reason given by the director is very poor. Even when the revenge portions are revealed, we lose the excitement midway. They feel repetitive at times. The motive is very routinely revealed and there is no strong emotion in his flashback. And then, the climax is again predictable.

WWW has got a decent premise at least for the Telugu OTT audience. Moreover, it is mounted on the relatable Lockdown premise. But the good things end there. The director failed to execute the story interestingly and keep the audience glued to the proceedings. In the end, except for a very few thrilling scenes, the movie ends up as a disappointment.

Other Artists?

There are very limited characters in WWW. The story mostly revolves around three characters – the hero, heroine, and villain. This is the second Direct-to-OTT release of Shivani after Adbhutham. However, the film does not offer much to Shivani to perform. She is okay with whatever she is given. Viva Harsha is okay in a small role. The rest of the characters are okay to the extent of their characters’ demands.

Music and Other Departments?

Technically the movie is okay. The music is also okay. The song ‘Nile Nadi’ is impressive but with only the scenes between the lead pair on web camera, it is not visually impressive. The camera work is okay. As said earlier, KV Guhan does not succeed beyond a decent premise. The screenplay and narration are also not gripping. Even at one hour 43 minutes, the film gives a lengthy feeling.
