Netflix has dropped the trailer for its upcoming spy thriller Saare Jahan Se Accha, and it looks intense and timely.
Set in the 1970s, the show stars Pratik Gandhi as Vishnu Shankar, an Indian intelligence officer on a dangerous mission. He’s been sent across the border to stop a nuclear threat, and from the trailer, it’s clear that every second counts.
This is one of the rare shows where espionage actually feels like espionage. There are no fancy, glamorous scenes or over-the-top action scenes. Instead, we see a man trying to stay alive, collect information, and protect his country without being caught.
Pratik Gandhi looks completely different from his previous roles. He’s serious, sharp, and carries the weight of national security on his shoulders. In one scene, he’s seen sneaking into what looks like a nuclear facility in Pakistan. The stakes couldn’t be higher.
The cast also includes Rajat Kapoor, who appears intense and commanding, along with Kritika Kamra, Suhail Nayyar, Sunny Hinduja, and Tillotama Shome. The show has been created by Gaurav Shukla and is produced by Bombay Fables.
With India’s Independence Day just around the corner, releasing the series on August 13 is a smart move. The mood is patriotic, and this story of sacrifice and silent bravery fits perfectly with the occasion. But it will have a competition with JioHotstar’s Salakaar that is also around the corner.
Saare Jahan Se Accha promises a gripping ride into the world of intelligence and hidden heroes.
The series will stream only on Netflix.
