With the ever-growing content libraries of OTT giants like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney Plus Hotstar, etc., you may have already seen most of the popular Hollywood films streaming on these platforms. But alongside their blockbuster counterparts, there are many movies streaming on the same platforms which are comparatively less popular, nevertheless, are brilliantly made films.
Last month, we had given our readers a list of five relatively less popular yet brilliant Hollywood movies streaming on various Indian OTT platforms (link below). In Part-2 of the aforesaid article, we have compiled a list of five more movies which you can watch on the Indian OTT platforms.
RED (Streaming on Lionsgate Play)
This one is a rather over-the-top and overlooked but highly entertaining action-comedy film with an ensemble cast that includes Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, Karl Urban, Brian Cox, and Mary-Louis Parker, amongst others. The story follows a retired black-ops agent (Bruce Willis) who is forced to resort to his very particular set of skills and assemble his old team after he becomes the target of a deadly assassin.
The Road (Streaming on Mubi)
It’s a post-apocalyptic survival drama film that revolves around a father-son duo called just as ‘man’ and ‘boy throughout the film (played by Viggo Mortenson and Kodi Smit-McPhee) and their road journey towards the sea in order to reach a better and safer place in a savage world. The film also has special appearances by Guy Ritchie and Charlize Theron.
Peppermint (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
The film is an action thriller helmed by Pierre Morel, who had previously directed the cult action film ‘Taken’ starring Liam Neeson. ‘Peppermint’ follows a mother (Jennifer Garner) whose husband and daughter are killed by a drug cartel. Later, she trains herself and comes back stronger to exact fitting revenge from those responsible for her condition.
Frailty (Streaming on Lionsgate Play)
It’s a supernatural film directed by Bill Paxton, who also acted in it alongside Matthew McConaughey and Powers Boothe. A father of two boys receives a message from an Angel to destroy the demons who are wandering on earth disguised as humans. One son believes in his father’s mission while the other one does not. Many years later, one of the sons visits an FBI agent and confesses about his brother’s serial killings.
Red Lights (Streaming on Google Play & YouTube)
This supernatural thriller follows a psychologist (Sigourney Weaver) and her physicist assistant (Cillian Murphy) who specialize in exposing fraudulent supernatural occurrences. When a well-known psychic (Robert De Niro) makes a comeback many years after his critic’s mysterious death, they begin to investigate whether the psychic is a fraud or not.
