Some time back, we had given you a list of unforgettable characters from Bollywood and the OTT industry whose smaller screen time did not deter them from creating a lasting impact on the audience. The article was written in two parts, which you can read through below mentioned links:

In this article, we have compiled a list of five memorable characters from Hollywood who were given not much screen time but still, their characters have stood the test of time and are fondly remembered even today.
Hannibal Lecter (Played by Anthony Hopkins in The Silence of the Lambs)

Hannibal Lecter is one of the most beautifully written villainous characters of all time. It was brilliantly essayed by veteran performer Anthony Hopkins in the film ‘The Silence of the Lambs’.
This was the first film for which Hopkins had won the best actor Oscar Award, despite his screen time of just about 16 minutes in the film. The eminent actor recently received his second best actor Oscar Award for the 2020 film ‘The Father’.
John Doe (Played by Kevin Spacey in Seven)

David Fincher’s cult crime film ‘Seven’ probably wouldn’t have had the same effect sans the terrific portrayal of the hair-raising character of John Doe.
While most of the film is led by Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt as investigating detectives, Kevin Spacey’s character makes an appearance much later in the film. Spacey’s spellbinding act in the climactic reels was the apt chilling conclusion that the compelling story needed. The role and the performance further elevated the film’s cinematic quality.
Joker (Played by Heath Ledger in Batman)

In spite of the comparatively shorter screen time of Heath Ledger in Christopher Nolan’s epic superhero film ‘Joker’, the phenomenal actor had rightly won an Academy Award for his chilling act in the film.
Besides Jack Nicholson and Joaquin Phoenix’s portrayals of the dreaded supervillain, Heath Ledger’s final performance certainly ranks amongst the best.
Fantine (Played by Anne Hathaway in Les Miserables)

It is well known how Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway physically transformed herself for the role of Fantine in the period drama ‘Les Miserables’. Hathaway had won her only Oscar for essaying the tragic character in the film.
She had about one-tenth of the film’s total screen time and still left an indelible impact on the audience. The film also featured acclaimed performers like Hugh Jackman and Russel Crowe.
Beth Emhoff (Played by Gwyneth Paltrow in Contagion)

Steven Soderbergh’s pandemic thriller ‘Contagion’ is eerily reminiscent of present times. The film starts off with Paltrow’s character returning home to her husband (Matt Damon) and soon dies after suffering from a seizure attack caused by a mysterious virus.
Her sincere portrayal of the agony set the right tone for the rest of the film’s narrative. The film also starred Kate Winslet, Jude Law, and Lawrence Fishburne.
In addition to the above-mentioned characters, in case you can think of some other Hollywood movie characters that are still cherished by the viewers despite their shorter screen time, then you may please drop your suggestions in the comments box below.
