Before this article starts, know this – the Fahadh Faasil starring era-piece gangster thriller, ‘Malik’, premiered on Amazon Prime Video, a few hours ago, so go and check it out. We will wait. This article is not going anywhere. In fact, once you watch that movie, you guys will have an idea of who we are talking about.
It’s not Fahadh, by the way, the person we refer to in this article title. Fahadh Faasil has been a Malayalam superstar for many years now, and this film is just another feather in his cap. No, we are talking about his co-star, the actor who had the second-most amount of screen-time following Fahadh himself – Nimisha Sajayan. 2021 has been her year so far, with three out of four movies she has been a part (from this year) has done extremely well. The fourth film ‘One’ wasn’t as bad as it could have been. But this film will make her a Malayalam superstar.
Nimisha Sajayan made her debut in the 2017 film, ‘Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum’ which was directed by her ‘Malik’ co-star, Dileesh Pothan and she was one of the main cast member among a trio of heavyweight actors – Suraj Venjaramoodu and Fahadh Faasil (another one of her ‘Malik’ co-stars). She made a brilliant impact with her debut film, holding her own against the veteran actors on screen. She eventually went on to do films like ‘Chola’ with Joju George, ‘Eeda’ with Shane Nigam and ‘Oru Kuprasidha Payyan’ with Tovino Thomas.
However, this year she has been a part of three iconic Malayalam movies so far – ‘The Great Indian Kitchen’, ‘Nayattu’ and now ‘Malik’. The last movie may not have been the best film she has been a part of, all year (that film title will most likely be ‘The Great Indian Kitchen’, throughout this year we expect), but it has been one of her best performances so far. Of course, her performance in ‘The Great Indian Kitchen’ was magnificent, but that performance combined with her role in ‘Nayattu’ and ‘Malik’ has shown us her versatility as an actor.
After her performances in films from this year alone, we can safely call her a Malayalam superstar. Her acting and screen-presence is truly eye-catching and we believe this young actor is just gearing up for even stronger performances.
