Applause Entertainment is bringing another interesting web series, ‘Virkar Vs The Antisocial Network’ for all those who like that adrenaline rush of an intense thriller drama. ‘Virkar Vs The Antisocial Network’ will be releasing exclusively on MX Player on 22nd January, 2021.
The crime-thriller series is based on the book ‘Anti-social Network: An Inspector Virkar’ by Piyush Jha. The story in the book is set in Mumbai, where a number of college students are getting gruesomely murdered across the city. When Inspector Virkar from the Crime Branch starts his investigation he comes across a group of ruthless, young, tech-savvy miscreants who use social networking sites and the Internet for blackmail and sextortion.
But that’s not it, Virkar, who is not that technology friendly, finds himself against a criminal mastermind who is always ahead of him. Are the two cases linked? If yes, how? With his reputation at risk will Virkar be able to get a grip of the criminal?
Helmed by Sajit Warrier, Applause Entertainment’s ‘Virkar Vs The Antisocial Network’ has an ensemble cast of Prateik Babbar, Simran Kaur Mundi, Shiv Panditt, Ashish Vidyarthi, Rohan Joshi, Naghma Rizwan, Ruhi Singh, Gopal Dutt, Asif Basra, Rajesh Khera, Twinkle Tshering, Anjali Sivaraman and Ravi Pandey.
Applause Entertainment has been doling out a good deal of amazing series recently, notable among these are SonyLIV’s ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’, ‘Undekhi’, ‘Your Honor’; Disney+Hotstar’s ‘Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors’ and ‘Hostages Season 2’; Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Rasbhari’, Netflix’s ‘Hasmukh’ and many more.
‘Virkar Vs The Antisocial Network’ that will launch on MX Player is a murky, intriguing crime-thriller, a genre that is being loved the most by the audience these days. And given the track record of Applause Entertainment this one has the potential of making a gripping, edge of the seat watch.
