Telugu film ‘Bimbisara‘ was a resounding hit at the box office when it released in theatres back in August. The quaint storyline of the film involved several interesting plot points – history, mythology, social issues, and even time travel! The interesting ensemble cast of ‘Bimbisara’ added to its allure. The film stars Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Catherine Tresa, Samyuktha Menon, Prakash Raj, Vivaan Bhatena, Vennela Kishore, Srinivas Reddy, Brahmaji, among others.
It is no wonder then that ‘Bimbisara’ found favour with theatre-going audiences. Needless to say, OTT viewers have been waiting eagerly for Bimbisara to release on OTT. But now they’re getting more and more impatient, because it seems Bimbisara is taking forever to release on OTT. It’s more than six weeks since the film released in theatres – August 5, to be precise. And still there’s no word on the Bimbisara OTT release date.

We had earlier informed our readers that ZEE5 has bought the post-theatrical streaming rights for Bimbisara. As per our reliable sources, the makers and the platform are still not on the same page as to the release date of Bimbisara on ZEE5. Discussions and deliberations are still going on between the stakeholders as to when is the best time to release Bimbisara on OTT. ZEE5 also has the other recent hit film ‘Karthikeya 2’ in its kitty. It has to decide the best time to release both films so as to gain maximum leverage from the two films.
ZEE5 seems to be zeroing in on the first week of October as the most likely time to release Bimbisara on its platform. Let’s see when the film will finally land on streaming.
