When will we get to watch Sooryavanshi? We don’t know. Will Sooryavanshi take an OTT route? We don’t know. But what we learnt will definitely bring a bit of joy to those who are eagerly waiting for this Rohit Shetty brand of masala entertainer.
Sooryavanshi, Rohit Shetty’s 4th film in the cop universe after Singham, Singham Returns and Simmba is in a lot of buzz since the announcement of the film. The film will feature Akshay Kumar as the super-cop Sooryavanshi and Katrina Kaif along with Javed Jaffrey, Gulshan Grover, Jackie Shroff and Kumud Mishra amongst others. But the main thing which took the excitement of the film to a whole new level is when it was announced that Singham aka Ajay Devgn and Simmba aka Ranveer Singh will also appear in the film along with Kumar to make a power trio to fight crime in Mumbai.
Now, it was not clear whether these two massive characters will be there for a small cameo appearance or for a full-fledged role. Now, finally we learnt from an industry source that both the roles of Devgn and Singh will be of at least 30 minutes in the film which indicates that the roles are not some minor role and instead, it’s more than an extended cameo. It was also clarified that though this film is an out-n-out Akshay Kumar film, the entire climax will depend upon all three super-cops which is bound to change the momentum of the Sooryavanshi. We have also learnt that unlike the previous film, Sooryavanshi is a much more serious cop drama with a little hint of comic relief in the climax when Kumar-Devgn-Singh appears together.
Sooryavanshi is in the news for more than a year now as it was earlier scheduled to be released on 27th March, 2020 but, the COVID-19 pandemic in India caused it to be postponed. Later when the makers decided to release in on 13th November, due to theatre guidelines owing to the continuity of pandemic, the film was again put on hold. Now, after postponing for the third time on April 2021, we are awaiting a next date for this film to be released.
Sooryavanshi, directed by Rohit Shetty in association with Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Picturez, Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films, is one of the most awaited films around and fans are eagerly waiting for this film to be released and witness the three super-cops in full glory but unfortunately we can only wait for this pandemic to be over as it’s very much unlikely that the film will take an OTT route.
