Producers of upcoming war drama film ‘Pippa’ have put an end to all rumours clarifying that it will not release on any OTT platform. The release date for ‘Pippa’ will be announced soon when the makers decide.
Calling out on a report published earlier, Ronnie Screwvala of RSVP, Siddharth Roy Kapur of Roy Kapur Films and Kamal Gianchandani of PVRINOX have jointly issued an official statement stating that any claim made about ‘Pippa’ opting for an OTT release and/or supposed issues between the producers of the film and multiplex operators is completely unsubstantial, baseless and unfounded.
They also said that ’Pippa’ is a film made for big screens and that’s where it will make its debut. But that’s not the concern we have for the film. ‘Pippa’ was announced long back and commenced shooting back in September 2021. Also, earlier the release date for the film was announced as 9th December, 2022 which was later changed to 2nd December, 2022. Even the teaser of the film film came out months ago.
But without citing any reasons, ‘Pippa’ was postponed indefinitely leading to many speculations such as the above. What actually went wrong with the film remains unknown, otherwise why would a film that wrapped shooting so long ago has not seen light of the day yet.
We wish RSVP and Roy Kapur Films had presented some clarification on that too. But they have maintained silence on that for far too long only to tell now that it will be announced soon.
