Netflix’s House Of Secrets: The Burari Deaths: Baffling AF

By Binged Bureau - Sep 11, 2021 @ 01:09 pm

Netflix India, earlier this year announced its mega slate for the upcoming year that had some amazing titles in store for everyone. Out of those amazing titles, four were such that instantly caught everyone’s attention. These were the first Netflix India original, true crime documentaries. Out of those 4, Karan Johar’s “Searching For Sheela” has already been released, and now Netflix India is left with 3 more from the slate. Out of these 2 are now scheduled for release, one is “Crime Stories: India Detectives” and the other is “House Of Secrets: The Burari Deaths”.

Netflix India has now revealed the release date for “House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths”, and it is all scheduled to release on the 8th of October, 2021. It will be a crime series, but more information on the number of episodes is yet to be revealed. House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths comes from “Parched” creator Leena Yadav and showcases the deaths of 11 people of the same family, in the Burari area of Delhi, on July 1, 2018.

Now, what’s interesting about these 11 deaths? We will know more with these interesting facts about The Burari Deaths.

The Deaths

These 11 deaths are nowhere near normal. These weren’t murders; this was a full-fledged mass suicide that included three generations of the Bhatia family. A family that seemed so normal to everyone else, but no one knew what went on inside. According to reports and investigations, there were no signs of any problems that could have given a hint to someone that they could take such a step. One of the daughters of the family, was in fact about to get married, she was happily discussing her plans with her cousin the other night, but suddenly, the next morning she was dead, committed suicide with everyone else. Interestingly, the oldest member of the family, the grandmother was strangled to death, but the others were known to commit suicide or at least that’s what the police were made to believe.

Occult Connection

Many believe that something eerie and out of the ordinary was going on with the family. The son of the family, who comes under the second generation of the family, was said to have occult connections. A diary was recovered and it belonged to him, where he mentioned some of the weirdest things that even shocked the police. Apparently, the family lost the patriarch of the family some time ago and the son was trying to form a connection with his lost father. In the diary, he mentions things that looked like instructions from someone. It has been established that the son felt he was having conversations with his father, and it looked like this mass suicide was some sort of sacrifice to keep them together in the next life. Days before the suicide attempt, the son had even lost his voice, but he communicated with his patients and everyone else with the help of notepads.

Banyan Tree

This was the creepiest thing of the entire Burari Deaths case. Something about a Banyan tree was mentioned in the diary but it only made sense when the police looked into the position of the bodies. All the bodies were hanged in such a way that it looked like branches from one single Banyan Tree. Excerpts from the investigation from the police mentioned how even the police and investigation team had goosebumps and were in utter shock when they saw these. Along with this, 11 pipes were coming out from a wall in their house; all of these were placed randomly. It was believed that those 11 pipes led the souls of the 11 dead family members out into the world and not let them stay trapped in the house.

Diagnosis

Surprisingly The Burari Deaths case is still under investigation, in some parts. It was one of the few cases that were instructed to have a psychotic autopsy. This autopsy involved talking in depth with family members, colleagues, servants, neighbors, or anyone who knew them, even remotely to assess what it, that led them to such a decision. Many believed it was some suicide pact that they under, or were possessed or well actually killed, but the one thing police couldn’t shake off was the fact how on earth did 11 members of the family committed suicide, together in the same night.

More chilling factors shall be uncovered in the Netflix series “House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths” on October 8th. As of now, there hasn’t been any trailer or teaser release. For a preview, you can check Netflix’s “Coming Up” section.
