I HAVE THE POWER!!!
That ending was awesome. And kinda gave us goosebumps as well. This Kevin Smith reboot looks like a fanboy of He-Man made it… And that’s a good thing. The animation is old-school but is not as jilting to the senses as some other old-school animation. Which is good as the aesthetics is just like how we remember in the old animated series, with some new quality additions. But enough about the animation, let’s move onto the series itself.
Titled ‘Masters of the Universe: Revelation Part 1’, this 5-part mini-series picks up where the original 1983-85 animated series ‘He-Man and the Masters of the Universe’ left off. After the huge epic battle between He-Man and Skeletor, Eternia (the planet where the series takes place) becomes fractured and the Guardians of Grayskull split up. After decades of secrets tore them apart, they are now once again needed for Eternia’s biggest crisis yet – find the Sword of Power and restore magic in Eternia or the planet gets destroyed and the Universe along with it. The task of bringing the Guardians together falls upon Teela and that’s what the trailer is about.
From what we know, there should be a condensed explanation about the events that lead to the beginning of this upcoming animated series, but we figure there will be some epic Easter Eggs and references which only die-hard fans will know (and remember). Still, there are many among us who are excited first-time viewers and just like them, we can’t wait for the series to finally premiere next month.
Kevin Smith’s ‘Masters of the Universe: Revelation Part 1’ premieres on Netflix on July 23rd 2021.
