Globally renowned movies database entertainment portal IMDb houses a list/widget of the most anticipated new Indian movies and shows (both theatrical and OTT) that ascertains the real-time popularity of that title. This is determined by the number of pageviews these titles are generating on IMDb. Each title is then ranked by IMDb as per the aggregate number of pageviews.
As far as today’s Indian films are concerned, the most anticipated title is YRF’s period action-adventure film ‘Shamshera’. Set in the 1800s era in the fictitious city of Kaza, it revolves around a fearless dacoit tribe led by Ranbir Kapoor’s character, and how he fights against the Britishers for their independence. But to achieve that, the protagonist must defeat the ruthless villain Daroga Shuddh Singh (Sanjay Dutt).
The second buzziest title as of now is Puri Jagannadh’s boxing-based movie ‘Liger’ starring Vijay Deverakonda. The film’s trailer was released today and hence the anticipation factor has increased.
While, surprisingly, in third place is J.D. Jerry’s directorial film ‘The Legend’. The film revolves around a gifted scientist Dr. Saravanan (played by Arul Saravanan), who uses his unique skills for the betterment of his country and the people. On the IMDB list, the film is ahead of films like ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, ‘Brahmastra’, ‘Raksha Bandhan’ and ‘Cobra’.
And surprisingly, no OTT titles could make it on the IMDb list this time. Despite the fact that OTT titles such as ‘Dr. Arora’, ‘Ghar Waapsi’, ‘Meme Boys’, ‘Good Luck Jerry’, ‘Rangbaaz’, and ‘Darlings’ will soon stream on Indian OTT platforms.
