We are talking about Netflix’s ’Arcane’ created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee. While the show is based on Riot Games’ popular game ‘League of Legends’, you don’t have to know the video game to appreciate it.
The gorgeously animated show follows two sisters damaged and divided by a war between the prosperous, progress-obsessed city of Piltover and the oppressed undercity Zaun. When a pair of brilliant inventors figure out a way to fuse magic and technology, they set off a chain of events that will transform both Piltover and Zaun.
‘Arcane’ received huge critical acclaim and praise for its animation, story, action sequences, characters, emotions, music, the way the fictional universe was created and much more. Some even consider it to be one of the best video game adaptations ever made. The series has also won Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animation Program alongside other applauds.
The success of the show is such that Riot Games and Netflix have announced that a second season is in production. For now, all 9 episodes of ‘Arcane’ season 1 are currently streaming on Netflix and if you love animated content you cannot miss out on this one. And even if you are not that big an animation fan, ‘Arcane’ still is a must watch.
