The last week of October was marked with the arrival of many Indian OTT titles including films and web series such as ‘Aisa Waisa Pyaar’, ‘Girgit’, ‘Aafat-e-Ishq’, ‘Call My Agent: Bollywood’, ‘Dybbuk’, and ‘Hum Do Hamare Do’, to name a few. Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated Indian OTT films and web series coming up. Jai Bhim (Film, Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 2nd November)
‘Jai Bhim’ is a Tamil language legal drama featuring Suriya in the lead role. Ostensibly based on a real-life incident, the film revolves around a lawyer named Chandru and how he fights for justice for a tribal woman.
Akkad Bakkad Rafu Chakkar (TV Show, Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 3rd November)
The story follows how two friends Bhargav and Siddhant devise an ambitious plan to open India’s first fake bank, get a huge amount of money from the public and then escape out of the country after duping them. Will they succeed or get away from the virtually impossible to execute bank scam?
MGR Magan (Film, Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 4th November)
Written and directed by Ponram and featuring Sasikumar, Mirnalini Ravi, and Sathyaraj, this rural family drama film follows an estranged father-son duo and how after two decades of discord, they finally take on a fight, but will they succeed in their battle?
Sridevi Soda Center (Film, Streaming on Zee5 from 4th November)
It’s a Telugu language action-drama film starring Sudheer Babu and Anandhi in the lead roles. The plotline revolves around a village Lightman Suri Babu who falls in love with the film’s titular female protagonist Sridevi whose family owns a soda center business. However, their different castes become a hindrance to their love.
Meenakshi Sundareshwar (Film, Streaming on Netflix from 5th November)
A romantic comedy that features Sanya Malhotra and Abhimanyu Dasani in the lead roles. The film is reportedly based on the struggles of long-distance relationships faced by a newly married couple.
Tryst With Destiny (Film, Streaming on SonyLIV from 5th November)
Prashant Nair’s directorial anthology film narrates the stories of various people from diverse backgrounds. These characters range from a billionaire to a lower caste couple to a corrupt policeman. The film features a talented cast that includes the likes of Ashish Vidyarthi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Amit Sial, and Vineet Kumar Singh, amongst others.
