Amazon Prime Video has released a new poster for upcoming Hindi film ‘Sardar Udham’ and with it the first look of Vicky Kaushal in the titular role is here too. Helmed by renowned filmmaker Shoojit Sircar, the trailer for ‘Sardar Udham’ will come out tomorrow and the film will premiere on 16th October, 2021.

‘Sardar Udham’ on Amazon Prime Video is a biographical drama that will tell the untold story of revolutionary freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh who assassinated Michael O’Dwyer in London to avenge the death of his countrymen and that shook the entire British Empire.
As per data revealed by Amazon, Siddharth Malhotra’s ‘Shershaah’ was a success for the platform and with Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sardar Udham’ the OTT giant will aim for something similar and bigger. We draw this comparison since both these films have three similarities between them – first, the patriotic theme, second, a biographical drama and third, a new gen actor with a decent fan following playing the lead.
Despite amazing stats ‘Shershaah’ didn’t do very well among the critics circle and Amazon would definitely want things differently for ‘Sardar Udham’ in that aspect. And with Shoojit Sircar leading the film, who is known for his class apart films like ‘Vicky Donor’, ‘Madras Cafe’, ‘Piku’ and more, this surely looks achievable.
Shoojit Sircar has directed ‘Sardar Udham’ with a story written by Ritesh Shah and Shubhendu Bhattacharya. Other than Vicky Kaushal, the film also stars Banita Sandhu, who made her film debut with Sircar’s ‘October’ in 2018, and Amol Parashar among others.
Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar have bankrolled ‘Sardar Udham’ while the production companies behind the Amazon Original Movie are Rising Sun Films and Kino Works.
‘Sardar Udham’ will premiere on Amazon Prime Video this Dussehra on 16th October, 2021.
