In demand streaming platforms like Disney + Hotstar, Amazon Prime and Netflix have been showing content of varying genres, from horror comedy to action thrillers in multiple languages both in regional and international, captivating audience world wide. With the coronavirus outbreak, the market for the OTT platforms have been rapidly increasing in the past few months, owing to the fact that theaters are shut down.
Bollywood icons such as Shah Rukh Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Karan Johar, Anushka Sharma and Aamir Khan are few of the celebrities who have turned into producer for web series and films which premiered in Amazon Prime Video and Netflix. This trend seems to have followed down south where Tollywood film producer and businessman Allu Aravind has created his own OTT platform called Aha Video. Similarly, Suresh Productions are making more content in Telugu on Netflix recently.
Vishnu Manchu, who produced the most expensive Telugu web series Chadarangam (which can be viewed exclusively on Zee5), is planning to get into the OTT business by launching his own OTT platform. The Manchu family is talking with investors regarding this venture and the works for it is already underway.
The filmmakers from the Manchu family, among others, are planning on writing and producing in content for this platform and have already streamlined a few interesting projects to do the same. Vishnu Manchu himself will star and produce a few of these films and web series.
Vishnu Manchu was said to be working on 4 projects earlier last month which varied from OTT releases to a theatrical one.
