It seems like Netflix is trying everything to lure Indian viewers towards itself these days. There is no doubt in admitting that Netflix has become the world’s best streaming service. Currently, it has more than 220 million paid subscribers worldwide. Despite all these big achievements, it has not yet discovered a way to conquer the hearts of Indian viewers. This scenario has also forced the streaming platform to reduce its monthly subscription prices for the country not once but many times. Still, it doesn’t know how to defeat its competitors like Disney+ Hotstar, SonyLIV, Amazon Prime Video, and many more.
Here are the current monthly subscription prices of Netflix India!
1.Mobile – Reduced from Rs. 199 to Rs. 149
2.Basic – From Rs. 499 to Rs. 199
3.Standard – From Rs. 649 to Rs. 499
4.Premium – From Rs. 799 to Rs. 649
Apart from the Mobile plan, we can say that the monthly charges of the remaining plans have been decreased to a great extent by the streaming service. The first two plans can become Netflix’s most popular plans in the Indian territory. But will this scenario change the game for the OTT platform in India forever?
Well, the answer is no. The recent drop in its monthly subscription prices is not enough for Netflix to reign supreme over the hearts of Indian OTT lovers. Common masses of the country still prefer Disney+ Hotstar or Amazon Prime Video over Netflix as they provide all the OTT services with very low subscription rates. They still believe that Netflix’s subscription plans are too expensive for them. The streaming platform has no alternative but to try everything it can to improve its image in the country. However, it has a very good chance of augmenting the number of subscribers in India now. Let’s see how Indian OTT lovers respond to this situation.
