It is a film adaptation of the play “Blizzard” written by M.I. Tsvetaeva. In the midst of a severe snowstorm in 1830, Countess Lanska escapes from home and finds herself in a tavern in the company of some very strange individuals. It is here that she meets a mysterious Gentleman, whose presence will divide her life into “before” and “after”.
