Yaf-Youf is an attempt of visual representation of the “unclassified” rembetiko songs They Put me in Prison. The narrator of the song is a young woman singing about the misery of prison, in which love sentenced her. Prison can be perceived literally or metaphorically. As a “song of prison” has a rare sensitivity and lyricism for its kind. Showing this special aspect is the aim of the film.
