Ustaad Bhagat Singh, Pawan Kalyan’s latest cop drama, has officially locked its digital release date. Directed by Harish Shankar, the film is set to make its OTT debut on Netflix on 16 April 2026.
The film will be available for streaming in Telugu, along with dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
The duo of Pawan Kalyan and Harish Shankar famously delivered the hit Gabbar Singh in 2012. So, a lot of eyes were on the release of Ustaad Bhagat Singh.
However, the film struggled at the box office, failing to cross even the INR 100 crore mark against its massive INR 150 crore budget. This happened largely due to the film’s dated script and stiff competition from the giant Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
But, based on how OTT often emerges as a second chance for failed theatrical projects, Ustaad Bhagat Singh could also emerge as a big viewing success on Netflix.
The story follows Bhagat Singh, a former police officer who has retreated to a quiet life in the Nallamala forest. His peace is interrupted when he is assigned to protect the family of a wealthy industrialist. The narrative takes a sharp turn, involving a kidnapping, a Chief Minister’s son, and a clash with militant groups.
Apart from Kalyan, the rest of the cast consists of talents like Sreeleela, Raashii Khanna, R. Parthiban, Ashutosh Rana, and more. Devi Sri Prasad handled the songs, and Thaman S provided the background score.
Digital audiences are often more forgiving of commercial clichés if the aura and swag of the lead star are intact. Fans who missed Ustaad Bhagat Singh in theatres can mark 16 April for its arrival on Netflix. Stay tuned for more updates.
