12-year-old Freddie runs away from home because he thinks he is the cause of many marital arguments. He dives into a clubhouse for children of divorced parents. The clubhouse is to be stopped and the children have look for a new shelter. They call in the help of puppeteer Walter who initially offers unrealistic suggestions for a new clubhouse.
