It takes place after Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair and before Danganronpa 3: The End of Kibougamine Gakuen – Kibou-hen, with Nagito Komaeda as the protagonist and portrayed as “an ordinary boy” whose bad luck causes good luck for others. Due to suffering a very traumatic death on the show, his mind created a strange, relatively peaceful world for him to live in as a coping mechanism. However, everything begins to fall apart after the “Destroyer of the World” appears.
