On a family visit to their industrializing homeland, Rain–a non-binary Chinese-American leaves their conservative mother to search for their estranged father. As they journey from the metropolis to the mountains and rivers of the JiangXi countryside, an uncanny intimacy forces them to confront the ghosts of their past and the land that made them. A meditative road movie about migration, what we leave behind, species extinction, climate change, and interspecies kinship.
