In suburban Mumbai, ten-year-old Poorna wakes up to her morning routine with a looming sense of loss. Later, during a school outing, she visits an ancient hill and an old-age home. In the midst of _mono no aware_—a Buddhist term meaning ‘watching the passing’—Poorna realises the quietly tragic, bittersweet circus of life in all its ephemerality.
