Nevenka: Breaking the Silence is the story of Nevenka Fernandez who is the plaintiff in Spain’s first successful lawsuit against a politician for sexual assault. This series documents the obstacles that she had to face in her fight to get justice. Nevenka Fernandez retired from the post of councilwoman after she alleged that the mayor of the town Ismail Alvarez went a step too far in his conduct. Nevenka Fernandez was the pioneer of the ‘Me Too’ movement and has been an inspiration to millions of people who have faced such inhumane acts but never dared to demand justice.
In the words of Nevenka, though the choice was pretty simple, she either had to do this, or she would be dead.
