This crime documentary web series will focus on an inafamous case that happened in 2011 in the Sofitel New York Hotel in the Manhattan borough, when a man allegedly sexually assaulted and attempted to rape th hotel maid who came to his room.
“The People of the State of New York v. Strauss-Kahn” was the name of this case. The person accused was the French politician Dominique Strauss-Kahn and the person accusing him was the hotel maid named Nafissatou Diallo. The case took many twisted turns both on and off court. At the time, Strauss-Kahn was the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and considered to be a leading candidate in the 2012 French presidential election.
