The Occupant is a Spanish thriller starring Javier Gutierrez in the lead. The movie is streaming from March 25th on Netflix. The initial wave of reactions for the thriller has been mostly positive. Javier (Javier Gutierrez) was once a celebrated ad executive. He was the toast of the town leading a lavish lifestyle. Years have passed since then, and Javier has not been able to move with times. Javier goes through a lot of struggle to land a new job. He is rejected not because of his experience, but due to his age and old ways. He doesn’t belong to the ‘current’ generation. But, Javier keeps on trying, which leads to many humiliations. On a personal level, the equation with family is also getting disturbed as Javier is not able to afford the previous fancy lifestyle. His kid is becoming a laughing stock due to his obesity, and his wife is working for bargains deals. The final blow in Javier’s life comes when he has to let go off his swanky looking apartment. Javier is unable to move on with life and stalks the new owners of his apartment. He stalks Tomas (Mario Casas) and devices a sinister plan to get back the residence and also his luxurious lifestyle. Does it work is the core plot of the movie. David Pastor and Alex Pastor have written and directed the movie. Ruth Diaz, Bruna Cusi, David Ramirez play other critical parts in the thriller.
