To promote Flood, Elektra produced a promotional video featuring Linnell and Flansburgh facetiously extolling the album’s merits. One sarcastic quip was that the album included nineteen songs, which made it inherently better than other albums with fewer tracks. The video also included a live performance of “Particle Man” and a sample of the lead single “Birdhouse in Your Soul”.
