The Metropolitan Opera assembled a quartet of stars for this new production by David McVickar: Sondra Radvanovsky, Marcelo Álvarez, Dolora Zajick, and Dmitri Hvorostovsky. The opera – about mistaken identities and hair-raising bloody revenge – could hardly receive a better performance.
