Top 10 films to watch on Netflix India this week
A psychologist becomes obsessed with her new neighbours as is confined in her home due to agoraphobia. She solves a brutal crime from the confines of her home or at least thinks that she is but the lines between fiction and reality slowly start to blur in this psychological thriller. The Woman in the Window finds itself on top spot of Netflix India’s Top 10 list.
2) Cinema Bandi
There are a few things that Indians are absolutely passionate about and cinema is one of them. Cinema Bandi is a Telugu film where a group of youngsters in a village try to make a film using an expensive camera that was left behind in an auto. Their struggles right from casting to filming are portrayed in a hysteric manner that will capture your heart
3) Nayattu
The hype around this film was unreal as it came to Netflix. The story revolves around 3 officers who become pawns for powerful lawmakers with scary intentions. These officers are framed in an incident during the political elections and they must flee to evade arrest.
Ajeeb Daastaans is filled with amazing performers and it has been getting a lot of credit for the kind of impact it has created with the viewers. Ajeeb Daastaans is a collection of 4 short stories that explore the various triggers that prompt people to project their uncomfortable emotions in a troubled or fractured relationship. It highlights the harmful effects that can be created in relationships if the wounds don’t heal in time.
The Strange House revolves around the life of a big City family that moves into a remote town. The two younger sons and their friends try and unravel the mysterious incidents that have been haunting the house in which they live. The Strange House has been making quit an impact in Netflix India.
6) Little
Little is a quirky yet funny story of a boss who can be a bit of a nightmare for all of the employees but things take a different turn as she is forced to go back to her school and revisit those days as she turns into the teenage version of herself. Her assistant has to run the company in the meanwhile.
Ram Prasad Ki Tehrvi is a quirky tale of a multigenerational family that reunites for a funeral after a long time. There are conflicts, confrontations, and complications as the film takes us on an emotional rollercoaster along with chunks of humour. The stellar cast of veterans makes it worth it.
8) Roohi
This film is part pf the ‘Stree’ franchise. Roohi has taken Netflix India by storm as it finds itself in Netflix India’s Top 10 list again. In this film, two close friends are forced to abduct a bride but things start to take a different turn when one of them falls for the abductee whereas the other friend falls in love with the spirit that is possessing her.
9) 365 Days
365 Days is one of Netflix’s top titles that seems to be omnipresent in Netflix India’s Top 10 list. Netflix recently announced that there would be a part 2 as well as 3 for the franchise. It is the story of a powerful man with mafia connections as he gives a beautiful lady an ultimatum of 365 days to fall in love with him.
10) Oxygen
This Netflix original film also makes it to Netflix India’s top 10 list as its unique theme and engaging premise have piqued the interest of the audience. Oxygen is the story of Liz who has to fight to survive and remember who she is before the oxygen runs out in her cryogenic unit.
Top 10 series to watch on Netflix India this week
1) Alma Matters
While many youngsters may have a fancy imagination or idea about the place IIT is the epitome of survival of the fittest and this documentary can be an eye-opener for many people who have a glamorised image of the institution. This documentary series is created by Prashant Raj and also stars famous comedian Biswa Kalyan Rath. Ama Matter finds itself in the top spot on Netflix India’s Top 10 lists for series.
2) Sexify
As a teenager sex is usually a very difficult subject as they are trying to understand all the feelings and hormones that are associated with it. A sexually inexperienced student gets together with her friends as they must try to explore the different aspects of the world of intimacy while trying to build an innovative sex app to win a tech competition.
These heroes of the old world have had their time to prove their worth but things start heating up as they get ready to pass the torch to their children with tensions rising everywhere and a realization that the old rules do not apply anymore.
The second instalment of Love, Death & Robots consists of 8 episodes and it a resounding hot amongst the viewers. Each story of the series is unique and portrays the theme of love, sex, and robots in a nuanced manner that will make you introspect where we are headed as a society. This show is created by Tim Miller and David Fincher.
5) Friends
Another ever-present addition to the list of Netflix India’s Top 10. ‘Friends’ is the story of a tight-knit group of friends who come together almost every day and share their problems and happiness with each other. It is the perfect thing to binge on a lazy Sunday along with your siblings or your gang.
6) Money Heist
Having finally wrapped the shoot of season five all the fans are thrilled about it. The professor hires a team of exceptionally talented criminals to undertake one of the riskiest heists ever. This team of ragtag criminals will have to dig deep to come out safe and sound. The robbers will have to fight obstacles both external and internal if they are to get what they came for.
Shadow and Bone got all Netflix users extremely excited when it came out and finds itself in a good spot in Netflix India’s Top 10 list. When Alina Starkov unleashes an extraordinary power that can change the fate of the world which has been at war for a long time, dark forces conspire against her in this fantasy epic.
8) Vincenzo
Vincenzo is the story of a Korean Italian Mafia lawyer who believes in exacting his own justice and takes on some really powerful people. During a visit to his motherland (Korea), he gives a huge mafia conglomerate a taste of their own medicine. He is also set up against a defence attorney who is willing to go to any lengths to prove that her clients are not guilty.
9) The Bold Type
The Bold Type is the story of three millennials who are trying to craft their life at a women’s magazine where they have to juggle their careers, romances, and friendships all at the same time. They have to do all of this simultaneously while trying to find their inner voice plus getting acquainted with life in the modern city.
10) Lucifer
Being the lord of hell may not be as exciting as it looks which is why Lucifer decides to come down and open up a Nightclub in Los Angeles as he forms a connection with a homicide detective, this is a funny and unique take on Lucifer.
