Synopsis:
Madame Claude is a French film set in the backdrop of Paris of the 1960s. It based on the true story of a powerful brothel owner named Madame Claude, who ruled over the prostitution business in Paris in that era.
Madame Claude runs a thriving prostitution business, catering to both powerful politicians as well as ruthless mafia dons. She holds a lot of clout in Paris on account of the patronage of the two powerful factions of society. By inventing a respectable past, she rises to fame as a respected and feared businesswoman.
The entry of affluent young woman Sidonie into her life, and Sidonie’s actions lead to the crumbling of Madame Claude’s prostitution empire. The film traces the rise to fame and ultimately the fall of the powerful brothel madam.
